Summer Fun

Throughout the summer, we have been taking Gehrig swimming. He gets braver each trip. Today, he decided to jump in without Mommy. Luckily, Aunt Heather was right there to catch him. Gehrig and Olivia had a big time swimming. They completely wore their Mommy's out! It was a wonderful day to be outside enjoying the weather.

The Galvin Family Reunion

John, Gehrig and I took grandmother to the Galvin Family Reunion in Storm Lake, Iowa this past weekend. We enjoyed visiting with our Galvin relatives from Iowa. Uncle Chuck took us on a tour of Aurelia where the Galvin's first settled. Our first stop was a turkey farm. It was very interesting to see 62,000 turkey's! When the turkey's reach their peak weight, they are sent to Sarah Lee's factory in Storm Lake for processing. It's kind of sad when you think about it - but oh well.
From there, we went to great-grandfather, John Galvin's farm. The farm is now owned by Jack Galvin, a 2nd cousin to my husband, John. Jack took Gehrig for a ride on the combine and old tractor once owned by John Galvin. Gehrig was in heaven! He really liked the farm! Gehrig cried when we left both farms as he was having too much fun!
Northwest Iowa is a very pretty area. Uncle Chuck and Aunt Lois were very good hosts. We enjoyed learning a lot about the history of the Galvin family.

John's New York Trip

John and his dad went to New York during June 27 through July 2. They enjoyed a week of fishing and watching Yankee ballgames! Gehrig loved watching the airplanes while we waited for Daddy and Pops to come home. We missed Daddy, but were glad that he had a great trip.
While Daddy was on his trip, Gehrig and I went to Gran and Gramps for the weekend. Gramps and I played in a golf tournament and placed third in the first flight. Gehrig played in the pool with Gran. On Saturday, he got to visit with cousin, Tracey and Kim, and my golf friends, Ronnie and Jane, and Janice and Spencer. I took Gehrig to the golf course on Sunday. I took him for a ride on the golf cart. He practiced putting with Jane and visited with Mommy's friend, Billie. We had an enjoyable trip!

Car Show

Sunday, July 6, we attended the Central Ky Street Rod and Machine Car Show at Freeman Lake. Gehrig really enjoys looking at all the cars. He especially loves Gramps car. Gramps won the award for the Best Street Rod.

4th of July Pictures

4th of July

Our 4th of July holiday was a busy one. We attended a cookout in Louisville at Aunt Patty's and Uncle Mike's. Gehrig got to play with cousins, Reese and Olivia as well as big cousin, Lindsay.

From there, we went to Aunt Linda and Uncle Lon's. Daddy and Uncle Lon planned their upcoming Florida fishing trip, while Gehrig played with cousin, Mark.

Later in the evening, we went to the Alicna's to watch the fireworks at Severns Valley Baptist Church. The noise of the fireworks scared Gehrig, a little, but he enjoyed the colors.

We had a very enjoyable day!

Gehrig at 20 months

Gehrig will actually be 22 months on June 18. These pictures were taken 2 months ago. He is growing up so fast and is developing quite a personality. He doesn't mind to tell you what he thinks! HA! He speaks very well for his age. He loves baseball, cars and tractors.
