What a soggy Easter week! But we didn't let this stop us from enjoying it. Gehrig and I made an Easter egg tree and a bunny cake. His school and church egg hunt were both inside, but he didn't mind as he still got lots of chocolate! As rainy as it was, I looked at this as a cleansing. Easter represents the eternal life that Jesus gave to us. It's a new beginning, new life for all us Christians. This was my new beginning to enjoying the little things in life again!

The Turkey Hunt
Gehrig went turkey hunting with Gramps and Daddy for the first time. It was amazing how he had no trouble getting up at 5:30. Gramps let him buy chocolate donuts and M&M's at the Custer General Store. Gehrig thought that was a big treat. They saw lots and lots of turkeys. Gramps let Gehrig shoot the 22 gauge shot gun he bought for him. I can see that this is the beginning of a new hobby.

Riding bikes
Gehrig got a bike for Christmas. Our subdivision is not exactly the best place to ride due the hills. He had a couple wrecks riding a couple weeks ago and has been a little scared. Today we went to Freeman Lake Park so he could ride on a flat surface. He's once again enjoying riding! I'm getting a bike this week and look forward to family rides! It's exciting to see Gehrig growing up and learning all these new things.

We're Back!!
It's been a long time since I've blogged and I've missed it! It's nice to be able to say what you would like to say and you can't do that on facebook or twitter.
Our son, Gehrig is growing up fast! It's amazing how he is developing into a little man.
Today, we enjoyed a birthday party and family get together. It was good to see everyone and catch up. It was especially good for me, since I get the winter blues so easily.

UL vs UK
This year, John and I went to my cousin, Tracey and her husband, Rusty's home at Rough River Lake to watch the UL vs UK game. Before accepting the invite, I had to ask Tracey if any UofL fans would be there as Tracey and Rusty are die hard UK fans. She assured there would be and sure enough slowly but surely they came. We watched the game from their tiki hut! The weather was beautiful and the game was so exciting! Hated it that UofL lost - but we enjoyed our visit.
Gehrig visited with my mom and dad for the game. He enjoyed playing ball with Gramps and Gran most of the time. I must say Gehrig looks handsome sporting his UofL uniform!

Heartland Festival Parade
At the last minute, we decided to get dressed and watch the parade. I took my new camera as I'm still trying to learn how to use it. Gehrig enjoyed watching the parade with Olivia and Reese. He got so excited over the Kosair cars, the train and the Disney characters. It was wonderful to see how excited he got.

Gehrig's 3rd Birthday
This year we had a smaller party with immediate family and Gehrig's friends at KY Railway Museum. The party included a train ride and free admission to the museum and model train center. The car we were given was air-conditioned with cushioned seats. The staff had it all decorated. It was better than I had even anticipated. Gehrig and all the attendees appeared to really enjoy the day.
